Girls Night!

What is the best chick flick ever?

Hmmm...

This is an extremely debatable point, and although it might not be THE best...its defiantly one of them.

And which one would that be?

How about "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend"?

I love this movie for many reasons.

1. It is clean. No " I wish they left this out", or "Maybe we should fast forward through this part?!?"
2. Christopher Gorham is cute.
3. The plot is clever and unique, it's refreshing.
4. It doesn't end how you think it will.
5. You can watch it again... and again... and maybe even again.

Hope you enjoy!

Personal Progress Anyone?

Here is the PERFECT Personal Progress activity...

I did it a few weeks ago, and I was so amazed at how much it made me think. Even if you feel pretty good about yourself, you should try it because it will make you feel that much better.

Wedding Card

The other day we were in need a card to give to a newly married couple at their reception.

Using rubber stamps I was able to easily put this card together.

To give it a more rustic look, I brushed a stamp in ink and rubbed the stamp on the edge of the paper. This supper easy trick works really well.

The ribbon is organdy, which is easier to get a nice bow with.

Tea Party

Today Briar Rose and her Little Friend came over to have tea (aka pink lemonade and sprite) with Pascal and me. It turned out to be quite a fun morning. We all wore our best fairy tale finery, and I even dusted off the china

Oh did I have fun planning or what?

Menu

-Pink Lemonade and Sprite
-Strawberry tarts (fruit dip and strawberries in a tart shell)
-Orange Jello Salad in flower pots
-Banana Bread
-Blueberry Muffins (provided by Briar)
-Grapes (our attempt to be healthy)

Our decorations were a cute banner that said "Ladies" and a garland of fabric and ribbon. We also had dried roses in mason jars, which I think really add a vintage touch.

We also made Tangled inspired crowns from this template.

Due to the fact that cheesecake is sooo good, I made another cheesecake desert.

I found this one on Pintrest, and I really loved it! I mean seriously, how could you not love Oreo Cheesecake Cup Cakes?

Have fun!

#21

Tonight's dessert fulfilled item #21 on my Summer List!

A yummy cheesecake/lemon square combo, which was very flavorful, but not too rich.

I'll defiantly be making this one again!

#20 and #25

Well, here is my first summer bucket list follow up post!

On Tuesday, I completed #25 and put a summer braid in my hair. It was a little difficult to do on my own hair, but I did it! So much fun to have that pop of color back.

Today, I completed #20 when I donated blood for the first time! My arm feels a little funny as I type this, but other that it wasn't too bad.

What can you do with a frisbee?

Last night I spent a pleasant evening with some of my favorite people and a large stack of Frisbees. Near where I live is an amazing park four different tiers. Defiantly  more than enough space to keep you interested for a long time. I had never realised this until last night, but you can do a lot more with a Frisbee than just play ultimate Frisbee (which is a great game...if you are athletic☺)

1. We played Frisbee golf. We walked through the park and aimed at stationary objects and tried to hit said object in as few tries as possible.

2. One person throws the Frisbee. The rest of us tried to throw ours as close as possible to theirs. The Frisbee that ended the farthest away is the new target.

3. We played truth or dare. Dangerous yes...but there are some groups where its safe. This group was one of those;)

Omnia Sol (Let your heart be staid)

Somewhere far from nowhere, I grew both strong and tall…
Longing to become, but knowing not the path at all!
But the footprints of the winter melted to fields of spring;
One last embrace before I cross the threshold: To life we sing!

O stay your soul and leave my heart its song!
O stay your hand; the journey may be long!
And when we part, and sorrow can’t be sway’d….
Remember when, and let your heart be staid.
Omnia sol temperat,
Absens in remota.
Ama me fideliter,
Fidem mean noto.

Weave the dance and raise the chorus; grieve no more…
Through the strength of Orion, find refuge from the shore!
Let courage be your oar, let passion be your sail;
Wisdom and truth will guide your deep heart’s yearning, though all travail!

O stay your soul and leave my heart its song!
O stay your hand; the journey may be long!
And when we part, and sorrow can’t be sway’d…
Remember when, and let your heart be staid.
Omnia sol temperat,
Absens in remota.
Ama me fideliter,
Fidem mean noto.

And when we part, and sorrow can’t be sway’d…
Remember when…
Remember when…
And let your heart be staid… Be staid.

I am in love with this song...I wish there was some way I could shout it to the world.

Here is the translation for the Latian:

The sun warms everything,
even while I am far away.
Love me faithfully,
and know that I am faithful
.
Hope you like!

Popcorn poping...

I looked out the window and what did I see? Popcorn popping on the apricot tree. Spring has brought me such a nice surprise! Popcorn popping right before my eyes. I can take a handful and make a treat. A popcorn ball that smells so sweet. It wasn't really so, but it seemed to be Popcorn popping on the apricot tree.

I've sang the song ever since I was little...but I've never actually made popcorn balls.

They were so easy and fun. Defiantly a good spring treat:)

Here are tips.

You can substitute Marshmallow cream for marshmallows, one 7 ounce jar for twenty full sized marshmallows.
And, spray your hands with cooking oil to make them into the balls:)

Have fun:)

HE LIVES!

I know that my Redeemer lives;
What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives, He lives, who once was dead;
He lives, my ever living Head.
He lives to bless me with His love,
He lives to plead for me above.
He lives my hungry soul to feed,
He lives to help in time of need.
He lives to grant me rich supply,
He lives to guide me with His eye,
He lives to comfort me when faint,
He lives to hear my soul’s complaint.
He lives to silence all my fears,
He lives to wipe away my tears
He lives to calm my troubled heart,
He lives all blessings to impart.
He lives, my kind, wise, heavenly Friend,
He lives and loves me to the end;
He lives, and while He lives, I’ll sing;
He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King.
He lives and grants me daily breath;
He lives, and I shall conquer death:
He lives my mansion to prepare;
He lives to bring me safely there.
He lives, all glory to His Name!
He lives, my Savior, still the same.
Oh, the sweet joy this sentence gives,
I know that my Redeemer lives!

Leprechauns:)

When the leprechauns come a knocking and leave you chocolate gold coins, you know it's that time of year again where you need to pull out your green shoes and your best creativity!

Unfortunately, I don't have green shoes.

But if I did. they would look like this.

However, here are the fun things we did!

Rainbow pancakes for breakfast! Separate your batter into six bowls, and die each one a color of the rainbow!

Clover sandwiches for lunch:)

Dr. Seuss Day

According to Pascal and Friends, today is Dr. Seuss day.

So, here is the question of the day.

To make green eggs and ham, do  you use green or blue die?

It's green.

I think it turned out pretty cute. Don't you?

March

I have this crazy thing I do at the beginning of every month.

Before I go to bed,  I turn out the lights and flip my calender over (without peaking of course).

Then in the morning, I look at the new picture.

This way, My calender is only on the wrong month for the shortest period of time possible.

Personally, I think it works well:)

Happy March

From the ♥

After a lot of trial and error, I finally made a dozen of successful heart shaped cherry chocolate chip cookies. It really is a hit and miss idea, but turns out so cute of you have the energy for the experiment.

by Rapunzel

Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookies
(which high altitude adjustments)

Wet Ingredients:
2 cups softened butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 eggs

Dry Ingredients:
4 1/4 cups flower
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoon salt
4 cups old fashioned oatmeal

1 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup cherry chips
1 cup milk chocolate chips

Cream the butter and sugar together. Add the other wet ingredients into the butter and sugar mixture. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients a little at a time and mix in.

Stir in chocolate.

Line the cookie sheets with parchment paper.

To create the heart shape, take a small (it needs to be really small if you want it to work) heart cookie cutter. Pack cookie dough in tightly, then place the heart on the cookie sheet.

Bale at 375 for 8-9 minutes.

For a gift, wrap in cling wrap and tie with baker's twine

I found this recipe on Pintrest. If you want something easier to try this is probably it. I think its adorable. I plan on trying it...someday.
